Madsu’s looking a bit cold – there’s even a bit of ice in the marina this afternoon – but temperatures are on the way back up.

December 18th and I had to take off my heavy cruising jacket and opt for regular life jacket over my sweater.

Beautiful day on the water – though the wind was a bit elusive – we still managed to have a lovely afternoon of sailing.

That’s Bowen Island in the background, with a BC Ferry inbound to Horseshoe Bay from Nanaimo.

A great day to be sailing in Howe Sound.  It was tough choice between doing this and going snowboarding this morning, but I think this was the right way to go.

It’s just going on 4:30 in the afternoon and already the sun’s almost down.  A beautiful November dusk.

With Vancouver Island in the background,  a tug with tow makes his way out of Vancouver Harbour and into the Straight of Georgia.  With winds gusting to 42 knots, I was glad to be a shore duty, working out a new battery arrangement for Madsu and shopping around (appropriately enough) for an EPIRB.

A lovely day down in Fisherman’s Cove.  Say hello to some of my neighbours.

A great way to start November – a sun was trying its best to make an appearance, as was the light northerly outflow in Howe Sound.

Looking forward to some fun winter sailing this year as I’ll be leaving Madsu in the water this winter.

October 9th and a picture perfect day in Howe Sound.  This is just shortly after noon, with a light inflow wind.

Had a lovely day out on the water – missed the sun earlier in the day but it didn’t really matter.  A light northerly outflow from Howe Sound made for a leisurely pace – just a few other sailboats out in the sound enjoying the day.

Heading dead down for a bit on my way back to Fisherman’s Cove after beating up the sound for a ways.
