Wonderful Westerly

A great day sailing in the lower Strait of Georgia and entrance to Howe Sound.

With a 15+ knot wind out of the west, Madsu was making 6 knots to weather under a 60% jib and reefed main.

Port Tack

A perfect day.  Lots of sunshine, warm even on a beat, and very little chop in the southern Strait of Georgia.

Madsu on port tack, shot with a GoPro mounted on the pushpit.

What A Difference A Day Makes

Sunshine all day today.  A light southerly kept Madsu doing 4.5 knots under the 150% jib and full main.  Lovely day.

Rain Rain Go Away

I managed to skirt the rain clouds all afternoon.

Had a great time sailing in the Strait even though the sun only occasionally peaked through, I managed to stay dry.

Starboard Tack

On a sunny starboard tack – it was very difficult to convince me not to just keep on going.

Great day in the Southern Strait of Georgia.

Big Heat

A light wind, but a great afternoon on the water, escaping the heat of the city.

While everyone else was motoring, Madsu was ghosting along at under 2 knots in a super light wind – but the sea was calm so the ride was fine.

Atkinson Light

A seriously hot day – with temperatures around 30 degrees.  By afternoon the wind was light, but still a great afternoon sailing in Howe Sound and the Straight of Georgia.
