High overcast with a few sunny breaks – a pretty gorgeous Monday sail in Howe Sound.

It was surprisingly humid on the North Shore today, but perfect out on the water. Winds were light in Howe Sound but I caught a nice little breeze that pushed Madsu along at 5 knots on a reach. (with a little current helping).

Point Atkinson light always looks spectacular from the water, and it marks the entrance Vancouver Harbour to the East and Howe Sound to the North.
I was shooting from quite a distance, hand held while underway, so the shot is a little soft. But of course, just to top off some perfect West Coast scenery, there’s a bald eagle sitting on top of the lighthouse.

Today’s track was pretty much straight out, sails up and a beam reach and and a beam reach back.
