Some haze obscures the view a bit – a warm 26 degree day in the greatest city in the world – Vancouver BC Canada

HMCS Calgary
Pouring on the coals, the frigate HMCS Calgary passes Madsu’s port side, as it heads out of Howe Sound heading towards the Straight of Georgia.
Madsu is 22 feet on the water. HMCS Calgary is 440 feet! (134 meters)
Earlier in the day I’d managed to get Madsu up to 6.5 knots working to windward. HMCS Calgary’s top speed is over 29 knots.
Wing on Wing
Now We’re Moving
A magic day in Howe Sound. Southerly inflow at about 15 knots under a bright sunny sky.
Hardly any chop, and with a reef in Madsu’s main, and the 150% genoa, we flew along beating to windward, topping out at 6.5 knots.
Throwing that reef in makes a world of difference. Madsu flattened out to a comfy 15 degrees of heel picked up almost a knot.
Not the best pic – I snapped it with the Pentax point and shoot, mostly shooting from the hip.
